A day at an amusement park with small children can be long and frustrating. If you know what to expect ahead of time, the trip can be much more fun and enjoyable.
Just for Baby
Diaper Changing facilities are located in all of the rest rooms in the park.
Baby supplies, diapers, lotions, bottle necessities, pacifiers are all available for purchase at the Marina Store and Infant Shop at the Front Rental Center.
Bottles can be warmed at the First Aid Stations and at any of the park's sit-down restaurants.
Privacy for nursing is also available at First Aid Stations.
Tip: If you are staying in one of the park's hotels, you can take a break and take advantage of baby-sitting services.. Requests are made at the Hotel Services Desk in the Hotel Lobbies; advance reservations are definitely suggested as availability is not guaranteed.
Strollers
Strollers are available at several places in the Park:
The Rental Center near the Main Entrance and at
Joe Cool's Corner Store near the Resort Entrance.
A $5.00 deposit is returned to you when you drop the strollers back at either rental location. Cost is $10.00 per day, Single Stroller and $15.00 per day for Double Strollers. Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis so get them early in the day.
Tip: Even if you just have one little one, rent a double stroller and use the extra space to carry your belongings.
Lockers
For $5.00 to $8.00, you can store extra items in lockers. Located near the front Main Gate (right side) is an all-day rental for a one time fee but see tip below:
or throughout the park with lockers that have fees each time you open them $1.00 (small) and $2.00 (large) . These lockers are located near Millenium Force, Magnum (exit), Top Thrill Dragster, , Wicked Twister, Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon (which are further back in the park). All-day locker rental is also available at the Soak City Bathhouse
Tip: The lockers near the front gate fill up first, and most people stop there when the park opens. Weigh your options and consider using a locker further into the park. You can get to them quicker, not having to go all the way back to the Main Entrance. But be sure to plan what you need so you don't have to spend a fortune getting in and out of them. On busy days lockers are likely to fill up quickly.
Parents can ride fun rides too
Cedar Point has "Parent Swap" for families with small children and no provisions for child care and adults who want to ride bigger rides
Tip: To participate in Parent Swap, you must obtain a Boarding Pass at Guest Services from the main gate, Park Operations, Town Hall (which is in Frontiertown) or the Resort Gate (near Magnum XL-200) in advance. You can't wait until you are at the ride.
Take a break while still being entertained
The train between the midway and frontiertown is a relaxing ride that can be round-trip or one way. The movement of the the train is soothing to babies and a nice way for parents to get off of their feet, take a break and see some different scenery. The train is covered and the trip can be refreshing and cool on a hot day. There are a few loud noises on the return trip from frontiertown, but nothing too extreme.
Don't forget Snoopy's Summer Vacation, the ice show extravaganza. Even little ones appreciate the color and music.
FINALLY
Schedule some quiet times between periods of high activity. The Frontier Trail, beach entrance and Town Hall Museum all offer quiet spots to relax. The Peanuts Playgroud is a wonderful place for little ones to burn off some energy. It has plenty of shade trees and seats for parents to sit with an infant. There is even a miniature train ride, it's close to the bathrooms at the arcade and near a First Aid station.
